The MSME Marketing Board is constituted as a facilitative body to strengthen domestic entrepreneurs, producer groups, and small enterprises across the country. The Board undertakes activities that support market development, enterprise upgrading, and business expansion for MSMEs. Its functions include the implementation of project-based interventions, creation of organized marketing platforms, and facilitation of both national and international market access for MSME products.
The Board works in alignment with the policies, schemes, and operational guidelines issued by the Government of India for the MSME sector. It coordinates with various central and state departments, financial institutions, incubation centres, export councils, and industry bodies to ensure that entrepreneurs receive integrated support from production to market linkage.
Key functions include establishing marketing infrastructure, organizing procurement and supply-chain support, promoting product standardization and quality enhancement, and enabling MSMEs to participate in exhibitions, fairs, buyer–seller meets, and procurement programs. The Board also undertakes cluster-based initiatives, sector-specific promotion, digital marketing support, and facilitation of government procurement opportunities under MSME policies.
The Board undertakes systematic activities to strengthen the marketing ecosystem for MSME products across India. It coordinates with district, state, and national-level committees to develop organized markets, ensures smooth market operations, promotes business-friendly practices, and supports producers with access to reliable marketing channels.
The Board prepares annual and long-term plans for developing business infrastructure such as market yards, product display centers, marketing hubs, rural enterprise markets, supply-chain systems, and promotional platforms. It ensures that all plans align with national development policies and state-level requirements.
The Board manages all financial matters, including budgeting, fund allocation, accounting, audit compliance, and monitoring of expenditures. It also evaluates financial proposals related to market development, product promotion, and beneficiary support to ensure effective and transparent fund utilization.
The Board runs a structured vendor registration system for suppliers, producers, artisans, cooperatives, SHGs, and service providers. Registered vendors receive support for compliance, documentation, product improvement, training programs, marketing linkages, and participation in board-approved initiatives.
The Board actively promotes GI (Geographical Indication) products and provides technical support to eligible producer groups seeking GI registration. It works to preserve traditional knowledge, enhance product recognition, increase market value, and ensure global visibility for heritage-based items.
The Board undertakes procurement activities under approved guidelines to support producer organizations, SHGs, and beneficiaries. It ensures transparency, fair pricing, and timely distribution of materials or services whenever required for project implementation or beneficiary welfare.
The Board issues guidelines, supervises field-level committees, monitors ongoing activities, and ensures that all operations follow approved rules and standards. It also oversees planning, reporting, record maintenance, and submission of progress documents at all administrative levels.
The Board maintains all financial accounts, administrative records, beneficiary data, project reports, and documentation of marketing activities. It also extends support services such as awareness programs, publicity campaigns, beneficiary training, capacity enhancement, and community outreach.
The Board empanels NGOs, SHGs, and community-based organizations to strengthen service delivery at the grassroots level. These empanelled bodies assist in implementation of schemes, beneficiary mobilisation, surveys, training programs, community awareness, and monitoring activities.
The Board conducts all activities necessary for the welfare and upliftment of beneficiaries, including farmers, artisans, micro-entrepreneurs, women groups, youth entrepreneurs, and rural producers. It provides them with training, support services, market linkages, capacity development, and opportunities to increase income and improve their standard of living.
The Board contributes 1% of its annual profit to the Government of India as a commitment towards national welfare, development programs, and public interest initiatives.
The Model Supreme Project is envisioned as a landmark national initiative designed to create India’s first dedicated MSME Market Model from the North Eastern region, headquartered in Guwahati, Assam. This model serves as a transformative platform aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, farmers, cultivators, producer groups, women-led enterprises, and youth innovators through an integrated national economic system.
The project aims to establish a Pan-India market network that connects grassroots producers directly with national and international markets. The platform provides market access, branding support, supply chain integration, capacity building, and promotional assistance to help local products reach premium buyers across the country and abroad.
The Guwahati model stands as a supreme master model due to its strategic location, cultural diversity, rich agricultural base, and strong entrepreneurial potential. This model showcases how a unified marketplace can uplift the entire region and become a replicable model for all 28 states and 8 union territories.
To strengthen the moral, social, and cultural foundation of this national project, it was graced and blessed by respected spiritual dignitaries:
Their presence symbolizes the unity of Sanatan, Spiritual, Cultural, and Humanitarian values, ensuring that the project stands for integrity, service, and national welfare.
Presiding Over the Establishment Ceremony:
Maulana M. M. Hanif Laskar
Chairman, MSME Marketing Board
Under his leadership, the project is committed to establishing a transparent, inclusive, and development-oriented market system for all producers across India.
To accelerate the nation’s economic development, the MSME Marketing Board is introducing a comprehensive Tender Facilitation Framework. Under this initiative, the Board will manage its own procurement activities while also organizing and executing tenders related to waste, scrap, garbage, and unused materials lying across various Government Departments, Municipal Bodies, PSUs, Institutions, and Multinational Companies.
In the upcoming tender cycles, the MSME Marketing Board will additionally introduce exclusive tenders for the collection, disposal, recycling, and systematic management of garbage and unused departmental materials. This step aims to transform waste into economic value through structured and transparent processes.
The project aims to establish a Pan-India market network that connects grassroots producers directly with national and international markets. The platform provides market access, branding support, supply chain integration, capacity building, and promotional assistance to help local products reach premium buyers across the country and abroad.
Through coordinated efforts with Government Departments, Urban Local Bodies, Industrial Units, and Corporate Enterprises, the Board aims to build a transparent, technology-driven, and economically productive tender ecosystem for national development.
